Information About Chablis
Chablis is a dry white wine, which comes from France. Chablis gets it's name from the place in which it is produced, situated in the nothern part of the Burgundy region. Chablis is made from the Chardonnay grape, which grows well over the limestone rich soil of Burgundy. This wine comes in a number of grades; Chablis, Petit Chablis,
Chablis Premier Cru and Chablis Grand Cru.
Most basic white wines of this sort are unoaked and vinified in stainless steel tanks. Many Grand Cru Chablis and Premier Cru Chablis receive some maturation in oak barrels. The white wine is a dry white and the cool climate of the region produces wines, which have a lot more acidity than the wines produced throughout the rest of France.
Chablis has a green-yellow colour, on the nose the flavours are of green apples and lemons in the mouth flavours of vanilla and lemon can be found.
