Moet and Chandon was originally founded by Claude Moet as Moet et Cie in 1743. As the demand for the sparkling wine grew the company began to supply the Royal court at Compiegne in 1750. By 1792 brand had a worldwide market, particularly to the well known and aristocratic set. In 1842 Moet introduced its first vintage champagne, which were given by consumers as gifts and consumed at special occasions around the globe, which meant that by 1880 the sales had progressed to 2.5 million. By this time is employees were enjoying the benefits of free medical attention, maternity benefits, legal aid and pensions. Moet diversified from owning just Champagne and is also the owner of Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Henessey Cognac, but its most famous vintage champagne was introduced post world war one and is known to us as
Dom Perignon. So today
Moet et Chandon Champagne stands for luxury, style, taste and class, and moet champagne can only truly be appreciated in the traditional style lead
