Wine glasses, champagne toasting flutes and vodka and whisky tumblers are used every day for drinking wine, champagne and spirits. The design of the glass is important in enhancing the flavours of the drink being consumed.
Glasses are also used during special occasions and ceremonies, to either toast people, for an engagement, birthday, retirement or wedding or for a general special occasion such as Christmas or Valentine’s Day.
A toast is generally made by a person standing up holding the glass, and saying a few marking words, such as, “congratulations!” to a bride and groom” or “Cheers!”. At a wedding, engagement or birthday, the rest of the party usually stands up holding the toasting glass up in the air, repeating the same words, and then a sip of the beverage is taken traditionally. Occasionally it is customary to consume all of the drink.
At a wedding, it is the best man who makes the toast to the bride and groom after his speech. Here the bride and groom remain seated while the rest of the party either stand up and toast or also remain seated and toast the happy couple holding their glasses up to the sky.
It is often a nice touch to give a wedding gift or engagement gift on these special occasions, when you have been invited and are perhaps close to the people who the party or special occasion is aimed at. Engraved toasting glasses make very lovely wedding gifts and engagement presents, especially engraved wine glasses or engraved toasting flutes. The glasses can be personalised engraved with a message, such as the name of the couple and the date of the ceremony. These glasses can be used and kept as a keepsake and will therefore help to remember the special day for years to come. Give
Engraved Glasses to help celebrate wonderful occasions and make special memories.
